Diseños Ornamental Iron is a Minority and Woman Owned, Detroit-based, iron work company that specializes in the fabrication of custom ornamental iron. Diseños Ornamental Iron has been fabricating projects that run the gamut from a simple handrail, to entry driveway gates, spiral staircases and more recently structural steel.  Not only does Diseños Ornamental Iron fabricate its own products from scratch, but we also boast an experienced installation team with over a century of collective experience to install our products.  Disenos Ornamental Iron is located in the heart of Southwest Detroit; in Mexicantown.  We primarily operate and serve the Metro-Detroit area, yet our sphere of work and recognition extends throughout the state. Ultimately, our goal is to serve you, our client, with only the highest level of service and quality in the business.

History

Our business has its origins in a small garage in an old Detroit home owned by a Mr. Tony M. Martinez. Tony has made a lasting impression within the Metro Detroit area, and his legacy continues. His unique and artistic work is recognized all over the southern peninsula, and beyond, as far as Chicago. Diseños became incorporated in 1981 and has been making specialized custom iron work for 40 years.

Custom Design

Diseños Ornamental Iron prides itself in the fabrication of one of the most unique forms of functional art still around in our time. Custom made iron work that is forged and bent to bring to life historic, and yet modern, architecture and design. Specialized blacksmiths have been taught from previous generations the tricks-of-the trade that allow them to work metal like clay and expedite the process to transform an idea into a CAD drawing, and make that concept into a reality.  One spark at a time.

Here at Diseños Ornamental Iron it is a busy time all year long!  Have you been to the Detroit Metropolitan Airport in Romulus lately? Although many of us don’t pay much attention when entering or pass by the parking structure; the infills have been in continuous resurfacing and repairs.  We are proud to say that we were subcontracted to do this work!
